Our real estate experts at Savvy + Co. Real Estate are a lot like your four-legged fur babies. They are super loyal, will do whatever they can to make you happy, are excellent listeners and just like any good companion, can show you the way home.

These Savvy dog moms and dads also know a house really becomes a home when it includes the addition of a pet. In honor of National Pet Day (April 11) and National Pet Month in May, below are a list of shelter and rescue organizations near and dear to these agents where you can find your next family member.

Of course these agents could not let the opportunity pass by without sharing a few pics of their favorite pets.

Local animal shelter and rescue organizations

Many of our Savvy + Co. Real Estate agents share their homes and hearts with dogs they adopted from a local shelter or animal rescue. Below are a few places to visit when you are ready to add a new BFF (or two or three) to your family.

Humane Society of Charlotte

The Humane Society of Charlotte is a “no-kill” shelter, meaning it believes that no healthy, treatable, behaviorally sound animal should be euthanized in the community. The Humane Society offers a variable adoption fee structure based on a number of factors, such as age, size, breed or temperament. Basic adoption includes a veterinary and behavior screening/testing, spay/neuter surgery, all initial vaccinations, a microchip and 30 days of pet insurance.

North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue

North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue. It offers both adoption and the opportunity to foster dogs in need. Not sure if you are ready for a pet? There are ample ways to volunteer for this rescue organization, including taking dogs for a walk or showing a canine a great day of fun.
