New Old’s The Welsh House

New Old Homes is one of Charlotte’s premier luxury custom home designing and building companies. One of New Old Homes beautiful creations, The Welsh House, will be open to the public for a two week home tour. The 5,211 square foot Equestrian style home is fully furnished and professionally decorated. The home tour will benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters and will be open Friday through Sundays, starting on October 16th and end on November 1st. This wonderful charity has provided a mentoring network and created meaningful relationships between young children and adults for over 100 years. The $10 per family entry fee will be donated to help the children of the charity that currently serves over 1,500 “at risk”  children in Greater Charlotte.

A silent auction of Fine Art and Furniture Accessories featured in the 2015 HomeArama will be for sale during the event as well. The auction items’ retail value exceeds $250,000. Vinter’s Hill will also be hosting a wine sampling each Sunday at the event from 2 pm to 5 pm.

There will also be a few special events going on during the two week tour that you don’t want to miss out on! On Monday, October 19th there will be a Design and Wine- Meet the Home Designer event. The home designer, Jim Phelps, builder, Mary Ludemann of New Old Luxury Custom Homes and the Interior Designer, Lynn Blackwell of Main and Gray Home will discuss what it takes to build a custom home. This event is from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and is $20 per person.

Bring the whole family out on Saturday, October 24th for Children’s Day! From 10 am to 3 pm there will be fun activities for the whole family including a visit from the Little Blue Choo Choo…The Train For You, face panting, pumpkin carving and many other fabulous activities! Children get in free.

And the last (but definitely not least) event happening during the home tour is An Evening to Give Back – Art & Wine & Dine Gala. An unforgettable evening featuring stunning artwork, sumptuous wine expertly paired with exotic cheese and heavy hors d’oeuvres by Best Impressions Caterers and Vintner’s Hill. This event is on Thursday, October 29th from 6 pm to 9 pm and is $35 per person.

The Welsh House is located in the community of Cheval in Mint Hill. The address is 3608 Piaffe Avenue which inside 485 just off Thompson at Lawyers Road.
