This summer, shake up the usual routine and go on an adventure with your favorite four legged friend. The NWC’s Off Leash area includes 70 acres of open space, three ponds and two and half miles of trails. Dogs must be at least four months old, vaccinated and have a pass. NWC passholders can add one dog to their pass at no charge and up to two additional dogs for a fee. Single activity and monthly passes are also available. They may never want to come home!

Take a Hike

Crowders Mountain State Park

Escape the city heat with a hike at Crowders Mountain. Leash up your BFF, pack plenty of water and treats and explore the over 20 miles of trails. With varying difficulty and duration, you and your pup will find the perfect route for your mood and fitness level – and don’t forget the summit selfie!

McDowell Nature Preserve

Unplug with your best bud on a no-stress camping adventure. McDowell Nature Preserve features 56 campsites and 13 RV sites on beautiful Lake Wylie. Spend the day exploring over 1,000 acres, fishing and getting into nature. Finish the day with Fido-friendly smores and campfire cuddles.
