Open Streets 704 has become another tradition Charlotteans look forward to! During this unique event, streets are closed to cars and opened to the community to explore on foot or bike. In September, Open Streets 704 came to a four mile stretch between West End and South End that is prime with amazing homes.

Savvy + Co. Real Estate want to give you a tour of the neighborhoods featured along the Open Streets 704 September route.

Park the car and check out these neighborhoods (and the Savvy agents that know them best)!

South End

As soon as planning for the Lynx light rail extension began, the voices of historic preservation converged with a strong civic drive to create a lively, sustainable live/work/play community.

The result is the Historic South End district: a retro, trendy blend that attracts hipsters, professionals and families to one of Charlotte’s top destination neighborhoods.

Time to Move In! “South End is a great neighborhood because it so so vibrant with all different types of people and housing. Energy oozes out of every street, and new developments are going up everywhere. Very rarely do you find a neighborhood that offers something for practically everybody every day of the week.” – Savvy + Co. Real Estate agent Matthew Means, Charlotte Real Estate Agent for Over 12 years

Wilmore

Filled with charming bungalows from the ’20s and ’30s, Wilmore has the style of Dilworth but with more modestly sized homes at more affordable prices. When you look at the amazing skyline views visible from almost every street, it is no wonder that this neighborhood is one of Charlotte’s most-loved neighborhoods.

Time to Move In! “I may be a little biased, but one of the reasons Wilmore is Charlotte’s best neighborhood is because it is so well well-situated. From Wilmore, you are literally walking distance to the light rail, breweries, the stadiums, all of Southend, restaurants  and so much more.”  Savvy + Co. Real Estate Agent Mike Feehley, #1 in Real Estate Sales in Wilmore for Over Four Years

Third Ward

Third Ward’s housing choices have grown with the recent condo boom – more new and renovated high-rises offer buyers more options in this “hot” hood. This area has a true residential feel with Frazier Park bordering the east side of the Ward providing a shady greenway that is perfect for picnics and biking.

Time to Move In! “Third Ward is known as one of Charlotte’s best neighborhoods to live, and attracts both natives and newcomers to the city for a variety of reasons. It is a short commute to center city and minutes to sporting events. The booming nightlife is filled with new restaurants, bars, breweries and family-friendly events.” – Savvy + Co. Real Estate Agent Jason Bridges, Listing Agent for Third Ward’s Westbrook 1005 and Greenleaf 1005

Wesley Heights

Of all of Charlotte’s historic neighborhoods, Wesley Heights may be the best-kept secret. Located due west of Uptown and within a stone’s throw of Bank of America Stadium (Go Panthers!) this enclave dates back to the early 1900s. Protected as an Historical District, a drive through the neighborhood’s leafy streets tells you that most of its Arts and Crafts homes are in good stead today.

Time to Move In! “Boasting diverse architectural styles including Bungalow, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and American Small House, the neighborhood is adorned with tree-lined streets and sidewalks and is within walking distance of Frazier and Seversville Parks, the Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways and Bank of America Stadium. My husband and I love the neighborhood so much, we got married in our backyard.” – Savvy + Co. Real Estate Agent Kim Parati, Wesley Heights Resident and Neighborhood Specialist for Over 8 years

Seversville

Big things are happening in this West Charlotte neighborhood minutes from Uptown Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University and I-77. Located on the Piedmont and Northern Rail Line, Seversville’s old paper mill, now with historic designation, is currently being renovated as Savona Mill, a creative mixed-use space. Today, Seversville is transforming into another one of Charlotte’s many vibrant and cultural neighborhoods.

Time to Move In! “Historic West End is experiencing a great urban boom and receiving development and attention as it leads into progressive Uptown Charlotte. Great things are in store for the booming Seversville area. Just watch and see!” – Savvy + Co. Real Estate Agent Charisma Smith, Living and Working in West Charlotte for over 28 Years
