Enter any one of the five landscaped entryways into Providence Plantation and you’re instantly transported from the bustle of trendy South Charlotte into a comfortable, exurban forest where large lots and long driveways promise a degree of privacy while still connecting with neighbors.  Developed in the early 1980s the neighborhood’s more recent construction favors upscale homes with greater square footage on smaller lots.

At the heart of the community is the Providence Plantation Racquet & Swim Club (PPRSC), a one-stop recreation center for families. Swimming and tennis are tops here with instruction and competitive play offered at different levels. Yoga classes are a popular draw for adults while kids enjoy summer camps and a large playground area. Open to the public, Providence Plantation residents are given priority membership.

Residents also enjoy excellent schools: Providence Springs Elementary, Crestdale Middle School and Providence High School and, across Providence Road, Charlotte Latin School.

South Charlotte was designed to offer the best in shopping and dining, and residents of Providence Plantation have it all. A short drive north on Providence Road takes you to the 80 shops and restaurants of The Arboretum; drive south and you’ll quickly reach Providence Commons and the Promenade on Providence. Shopping accomplished!

Nature enthusiasts flock to nearby Col. Frances Beatty Park for hiking, biking and picnicking. The park’s large pond is a favorite among kayakers who may paddle past a lakeside wedding.

Perched at the intersection of Providence Road and the i-485, Providence Plantation is minutes from the cultural and sporting events of Uptown Charlotte as well as Charlotte Douglas Airport.
