Enter the Ardrey Chase neighborhood at the intersection of Marvin Road and Chamberlin Road in South Charlotte and you’ll find yourself in a small, newish, tight-knit community where the word “neighborhood” means something.

With only about 200 single-family homes, meeting your neighbors is as natural as walking your dog or biking the Six Mile Creek Greenway that passes through the community. Many residents join the Ardrey Chase Clubhouse and Pool on Paxton Run Road for year-round, family-based recreation activities.

The Ardrey Crest development was built by Saussy Burbank and features its signature wood-frame, craftsmen-style traditionals in different configurations, each featuring a generous front porch. The rest of the community consists of handsome two-story brick colonials. The neighborhood boasts excellent schools (Elon Park Elementary School, Community House Middle School and Ardrey Kell High School). While the neighborhood is near to the South Carolina border, both the i485 and the Lynx Light Rail will whisk you into Uptown Charlotte.

For shopping, a short drive up Audrey Kell Road takes you to the Blakeney Shopping Center, a village-square inspired collection of shops and restaurants where you’ll find your local Harris Teeter. Shopping choices range from small fashion boutiques to national chains including Marshalls, Target and Home Goods.
