As 2020 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the year here at Savvy + Co. Our company, and our agents, will always remember 2020 as the year that innovation, technology and creativity became essential day-to-day realities for serving our clients.

In-person interactions became a rare occurrence in 2020 as we shifted to a more virtual model. Our agents used FaceTime, Zoom, and other video apps to give our buyers virtual tours of homes. Staging became even more important as our sellers had to virtually show off their homes.

Even with the obstacles that 2020 presented, Savvy + Co. and our agents were able to continue to represent our clients in a way that sets us apart.

As we prepare to close the books on 2020 and look towards 2021, we wanted to take a moment to recognize a group of agents that while they may be new to the Savvy team have consistently excelled and risen to any challenge. We are excited to announce our Rising Stars of 2021! We can’t wait to see what they do in 2021.

Samara Brown

Samara Brown is a North Carolina native who has called Charlotte home for eight years. She loves discovering new things and exploring neighborhoods in Charlotte.

“My most memorable sale this year would have to be my first sale, 3015 Virginia Ave. I met Lauren and Rodney at an open house and the next week we were under contract on that same home. In addition to it being my first sale, our closing date happened to be right before the city shut down due to COVID. We had to move our closing date up three days to make sure that my clients would be able to close on time. There were a ton of moving parts and it really gave me a huge boost of confidence!

This year was such a great year for me, especially in a pandemic, so I would love to expand and continue the momentum I had this year. I have a number that I am aiming for in terms of total selling volume for 2021 and I would also really like to start working with builders and possibly obtain a few luxury listings, fingers crossed for that.  As far as personal goals, I am hoping to purchase my own home within the next year, working with all of my first-time homebuyers, has really gotten me excited for that process for myself.”Samara Brown

“While it may have taken Samara a little bit to find her groove in real estate, she has proven herself to be strong-willed, patient, and flexible. During a time when a lot of agents found themselves floundering due to COVID protocols, she seamlessly switched to virtual showings, open houses and fully embraced our ‘new normal.’ I have loved watching her learn and grow over the last year!” ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in- Charge, Savvy + Co. Real Estate

Tiffany Hahne

Tiffany Hahne was born and raised in Charlotte and says that the “Queen City is part of my heart and soul”.  Tiffany has enjoyed watching Charlotte grow and develop into a desirable place to live and is proud to raise her family here.

“I thought I knew a lot about Charlotte, but becoming a real estate agent has broadened my perspective and understanding about neighborhoods, local history, urban development, etc. In the coming year, I hope to continue exploring Charlotte and the surrounding areas, including South Carolina. I look forward to meeting new people and helping people fulfill their home buying dreams.

My favorite thing about being an agent with Savvy + Co. is being IN the process with people. It’s like being on an adventure with my clients. Buying or selling a home is an exciting stage in people’s lives and it is an honor to be a part of it.” Tiffany Hahne

“Tiffany’s trajectory has been on a solid upswing over the last year. I truly felt like she was a ticking time bomb, in the best possible way. And as we approach the end of 2020, she has absolutely exploded! She handles each client and situation with care, diligence and patience that will only help her business to grow more each year.” ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in-Charge, Savvy + Co. Real Estate

Kendra C. Johnson

Kendra C. Johnson is an artist, actor, and dreamer. Kendra’s dream of homeownership was realized in Charlotte, and now as an agent, she loves guiding and supporting other dream chasers on their homeownership journeys.

“My most memorable home sale in 2020 was working with a young man to purchase a townhouse. I represented his mother first and then worked with his uncle and aunt. All were first-time homebuyers. He was the first of the group to close. It was a cross sale as the listing agent is a Savvy agent, as well. I caught the “sneak peek” on her social media and we sprang into action immediately. We made a strong offer and we were under contract before it hit the market.

Throughout this process, my Savvy mentors and the owners supported me tremendously in making sure this transaction was successfully closed. TEAMwork makes the DREAMwork!”Kendra C. Johnson

“The middle initial could stand for Calm, Cool or Collected but I like to think it stands for Compassionate. Kendra shows compassion for all of her clients and the willingness to go the extra mile to get them to their end goal. She is vibrant and her excitement about real estate gets her clients excited, too.”  ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in-Charge, Savvy + Co. Real Estate

Amanda Kupchella

Amanda Kupchella is originally from Asheville, but she moved to Charlotte for the bustling city life and thriving job market. She loves showing off her city to buyers.

“My most memorable sale from 2020 was during the height of the pandemic when I helped my clients, who I’d never met in person, buy a house they didn’t see until the day they closed. Referred to me by a previous client of mine, my clients planned to relocate from Boston to Charlotte to be closer to family and to escape the Boston winters.  We embraced the virtual experience and utilized video conferencing and FaceTime. I sent them a home in my neighborhood, Merry Oaks, and it turned out to be the one! For them to see the house, I set up a FaceTime call and walked them through the entire house. Later that day, I recorded videos of the home so they could watch for any detail they may have missed during the call.  They liked the house and decided to put an offer on it without even seeing it in person!

This year has been unlike any other, in both good and bad ways, but I’m looking forward to a clean slate in 2021. I have a lot to be grateful for in 2020: my real estate career has been very busy and successful, I have spent a lot more time with my children and husband, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful weather we had all year since I was not cooped up in an office.

My favorite thing about being an agent is helping people. There’s so much satisfaction in getting people through one of the biggest life events they will ever experience.” – Amanda Kupchella

“Amanda has a genuine warmth and spark that makes the relationship building part of real estate seem like second nature. Her first year in real estate has been wildly successful and I think that’s due in large part to her willingness to put herself out there and take chances. I predict great things in her future!” ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in-Charge, Savvy + Co. Real Estate

Noah Spencer

Noah Spencer is a Charlotte native with a passion for the growth and community of the Queen City and all that it has to offer. He brings to real estate 15 years of management experience and is known for his refreshingly personal demeanor and proven ability to win.

“My most memorable sale moment from 2020 would be the client that I gained from hosting an open house for a fellow Savvy realtor. This one connection turned into the sale of their current home and the purchase of a new home totaling $1.05 million in sales. It proved to me that clients can come at any time and that I need to always be ready to put myself out there.

Regarding being an agent, on a personal note, the biggest reward is having a job in which I have the flexibility to be part of my kids’ everyday lives and the ability to be present with my family on MY schedule. On a professional note, I love that I am building my own business by connecting with my community. Charlotte has always been special to me and I am now able to connect to the people even more. This town is growing in so many amazing ways, and being on the frontline is very exciting to me.

In 2021, I plan to invest in my personal growth and to hold myself more accountable, both personally and professionally. Ultimately I want to become a better agent, father and husband.”Noah Spencer

“Having been a Realtor in Charlotte a number of years ago but left the industry to pursue a career that took him overseas, Noah returned to real estate right when we were in a rather precarious state- unable to easily show property or hold open houses. Nevertheless, he stuck it out and has managed to balance “quarantine life” while re-starting his real estate career and business. His steadfast determination and commitment to his clients is amazing and I look forward to what he continues to achieve in 2021.“ ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in-Charge, Savvy + Co. Real Estate

Grant Wilsterman

Grant Wilsterman is focused on going above and beyond to ensure that he exceeds client expectations. With a background in civil engineering and renovation, Grant provides insight into the home buying process.

“My most memorable sale in 2020 was definitely the sale of 2609 Duncan Ave. I had the honor of getting to know the family who owned the home over the past year. They bought this home in Villa Heights, their first home, in 1994. After seeing the neighborhood change over the last 25 years, they finally decided it was time for them to upgrade and take advantage of the appreciation of the homes in Villa Heights. I received offers on their home before it even hit the market and was able to put it under contract in under 24 hours! I was also able to help them buy a home with the money from that sale. This new home was their first home with central air and heating. I really felt I made a difference in their lives.

My favorite part of being a Real Estate agent is that I can work with my friends and help them with something that I am truly passionate about. Being able to help them purchase a home they will love and help them invest in real estate keeps me motivated. I want everyone who I work with to have not only bought a home or investment they love but to have learned a great deal about real estate and investment along the journey.”Grant Wilsterman

“Grant joined Savvy + Co after a year at another firm in Charlotte. In his first 6 months at Savvy + Co, he more than doubled the volume that he did in his first year in real estate at his previous firm. I am consistently blown away at his approach to growing his business, using social media and easy to understand analytics on the housing market to grab both buyers and sellers.” ~ Courtney Thomas, Broker-in-Charge, Savvy + Co.
