With winding tree-lined streets and easy access to uptown, the SouthPark Mall, major highways and the airport, Madison Park is great for families who want a quiet, but well connected neighborhood. Charlotte’s Lynx Blue Line runs up South Boulevard with 15 stops for easy access — Uptown is just minutes away. On the other end of the neighborhood Park Road offers a bevy of shopping and recreational opportunities, making Madison Park a neighborhood that has it all.

Built in the 1950s, homes in Madison Park range in size from 1,000 to 2,500+ square feet in styles that include traditional brick ranches to Cape Cods, split levels and mid-century modern. An active homeowners association keeps the neighborhood tidy.

All shopping needs are easily met just outside the borders of this residential haven. Immediately to the north residents enjoy the homey ambiance of the 1950s-era Park Road Shopping Center where most daily shopping needs are met as well as movies and dining. Several blocks to the east the fashion shopper will adore the upscale department stores and shops of the decidedly urbane SouthPark Mall.

Recreation and Fun for Young and Old
Thanks to the presence of two city parks, the neighborhood offers a full roster of recreation opportunities that will keep kids through seniors moving. The Marion Diehl Park property on Tyvola Road includes an outdoor track and playing field, a gym complex with a swimming pool and a senior center. Across Tyvola Road is the 72-acre Park Road Park with tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, baseball fields, walking trails and a picnic and playground area, all set around an 11-acre lake with pier. If that’s not enough, Freedom Park with its large pond, band shell, bike rentals and access to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway is only a short drive away.

Neighborhood Nightlife on Montford Drive
Walk across Park Road at Montford Drive and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a local nightlife strip that rocks most evenings and weekends. This walkable street party starts with bowling at Ten Park Lanes and continues through an amazingly varied assortment of dining and drinking spots (Angry Ales, Brazwell’s Premium Pub, Duckworth’s Grill and Taphouse, Jeff’s Bucket Shop, El Camino, Maverick Rock Taco, The Roasting Company and more).
