Ah, to find the perfect home. Maybe yours includes a huge backyard for Fido and friends, or a wine room for when you need a break from four-legged and two-legged creatures. It might include a laundry room for cleaning everyone’s paws, and vaulted ceilings and a fireplace to make it feel extra cozy.

Savvy + Co. Real Estate agent Genevieve Williams has a home with these things and so much more in the desirable Chantilly neighborhood for sale. So, what does an agent do to show the livability of a never-before-lived-in home?

Like all the agents at Savvy + Co. Real Estate, Genevieve works hard to get her clients homes sold. With her listing at 430 Lorna Street, Genevieve decided to host a wellness event and invited friends and neighbors to view the property, while taking a well deserved ‘me time’ break. We asked her about the event and how this might help others looking to sell their homes.

C5: You are selling a never before lived in home so you decided to host a wellness event? What made you decided to do that?
GW: I know, it’s definitely something different. A lot of sellers and agents might shy away from having people over or risking messing the house up by hosting a party, but I find it a fun way to showcase a home. I invited some of my favorite business owners to participate, showcase their services, and treat guests to an evening of yummy food, massages, oils and other relaxing wellness products and services. Everyone had a great time!C5: This is really thinking outside the box. How did the event help showcase 430 Lorna Street?
GW: Being an agent at Savvy + Co. Real Estate has inspired me to continue to go the extra mile for my clients and hosting special events to preview a home is one way to do that. When you have an event, guests (and potential buyers) move freely throughout your home and get a sense of how they would live there. Plus I was right there to answer any questions. Did I mention it was tons of fun?

C5: Do you have other suggestions of how sellers can showcase their homes?
GW: Of course! You don’t have to have a full scale wellness event to create fun opportunities for potential buyers to view your home. It could be as simple as a neighborhood tea or you could team up with other homes for sale in the neighborhood and do a progressive lunch or dinner. People enjoy an open house, why not make yours stand out with cooking demonstrations or face painting for the kids. This is where the right agent comes in. They can help guide you in a direction that is really going to showcase your home.

C5: Well, I can’t let you go until you tell me about the home. It is really amazing!
GW: It is a new construction modern home with a formal entry way. The living, dining and kitchen area are open with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sanctuary. I love the second level deck off living room and the master suite has marble walls and flooring as well as his and her vanities and closets. The secondary bedrooms share jack-n-jill bathroom. There’s a two car garage with entry into laundry and mud room. The guests really liked the fireplaces. The home has a wet bar, option for a fourth bedroom or guest suite, wine room, outdoor patio and fenced yard. You can see why I wanted to have people over to showcase these features!
